La Mesa's Volunteer Program offers you an opportunity to take an active role in your community. Short-term and long-term volunteer positions are offered in all City Departments.

You can also become a part of La Mesa's volunteer driver transportation program Rides4Neighbors, a transportation assistance program for La Mesa's older adult residents and adult residents with disabilities. Volunteers use their own vehicles to assist La Mesa neighbors in need of a lift.

Drivers are reimbursed for mileage and receive secondary liability and accident insurance. As a volunteer, you decide your availability and choose the rides you wish to provide. There is no minimum time commitment or number of rides required to become a volunteer, just complete the volunteer driver application form and return it to the address noted on the form.
