On December 4, 2006, and January 30, 2007, the La Mesa City Council conducted two “town hall” meetings. The first was held at Parkway Middle School; the second at La Mesa Middle School. The community input received at both meetings established the foundation on which the Council developed the current two-year budget for fiscal years 2007-2009. The Council felt the town hall meeting format, which replaced the bi-annual Community Summit, was highly successful in finding out what residents think about their city as well as in understanding citizens’ concerns and their vision for La Mesa’s future.

As a result, beginning in fall 2007, the Council will hold two such meetings each year at various locations to cover all areas of the city. Also, to encourage as many people as possible to attend, future town hall meetings will be scheduled at different times during the day.

The fiscal year 2007-2008 town hall meetings will be held in November 2007 and February 2008. Please check back for information about the location, date and time of these meetings or sign up to be notified via email.
