Ensure that household chemicals including pesticides and fertilizers are used sparingly and are not allowed to reach hard surfaces where they could runoff. Monitor landscaping irrigation to ensure that no overspray or runoff is allowed to reach the storm drain system. Be sure to always pick up after your pets.

Ensure that any materials which have the capacity to pollute storm water are stored inside or under cover. Keep dumpster lids closed and use only dry cleaning methods such as broom sweeping when cleaning areas.
