Public Opinion Survey

Biennial Survey
Every two years La Mesa residents are surveyed to ascertain their use of and satisfaction with city services as well as to determine priorities for their neighborhoods and the city. Survey results provide a framework for guiding the organization’s work efforts and are used by the City Council to help shape city budget priorities. The city utilizes a statistically valid telephone, email and online survey of randomly selected residents to acquire this data.

2015 Survey

The 2015 survey revealed that 90% of La Mesa residents rated their quality of life in the city as either excellent or good. 86% of those surveyed were satisfied with the job the city is doing to provide municipal services. Most importantly, the focus of the study is to measure the city’s performance in meeting the needs and expectations of residents and opening an avenue of communication between elected officials and their constituents.
