Starbabies/Star Tots


Infant ages 6 to 18 months & toddler ages 18 to 36 months
As required by the current health order, one adult must accompany each child in the water for the lesson. Instruction will occur from the pool deck by a certified swim instructor. Face coverings are required in the facility lobby and locker rooms by anyone over the age of two.
The purpose of this course is to develop in very young children a high comfort level in the water while training the adults who accompany them in water safety and drowning prevention. This course does not teach children to become accomplished swimmers or to survive in the water; it does provide a confidence-building, fun, and safe experience. 
One adult must be in the water with each child. Swim diapers required. 


Starfish Preschool


Ages 3 - 5 years
As required by the current health order, one adult must accompany each child in the water for the lesson. Instruction will occur from the pool deck by a certified swim instructor. Face coverings are required in the facility lobby and locker rooms by anyone over the age of two. 
This course will develop a high comfort level in the water and a readiness to swim and for those children who are developmentally ready, it will teach functional swim skills. his class approaches teaching swimming through creative, fun activities in the water. Students work toward developing the five competencies and progress toward achieving the benchmarks at their own pace in a small-group setting. 

Starfish Youth


Ages 6 - 12 years
As required by the current health order, one adult must accompany each child in the water for the lesson. Instruction will occur from the pool deck by a certified swim instructor. Face coverings are required in the facility lobby and locker rooms by anyone over the age of two. 
Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies using age appropriate learning activities. Learning is self-paced by challenging. Classes will teach high comfort level in the water and functional swim skills. 


Starfish Stroke School


Ages 6 and up

Due to the high level of swim skill required to be in this level, an adult will not be required to accompany each child in the water for this class.  Instruction will occur from the pool deck by a certified swim instructor. Face coverings are required in the facility lobby and locker rooms by anyone over the age of two.  Students refine freestyle and learn stroke technique for backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and develop endurance.  This course is for students of all ages who achieved the green swim school benchmarks. Students must pass the green swim benchmark before enrolling which requires all students to swim 30 feet of freestyle with side breathing.  If the child does not possess the necessary prerequisite skills for Starfish Stroke School, the may be dropped from the class.

All Ages
As allowed by the current health order, instruction will occur in the water based on the one-to-one format of this lesson. Instructor will wear a face covering or face shield as required. Face coverings are required in the facility lobby and locker rooms by anyone over the age of two. 
Swimming lessons for physically and mentally challenged individuals designed to work with all ages and all skill levels. 
Parent or guardian may be required to assist pool staff in the water.
